I have spent three years in total learning various parts of Quality in Pet food manufacturing. Six months of the three years was spent at Norpel learning the Slurry and frozen meat portion of pet food. The other two and the half i have spent continuously expanding my knowledge of batch, extruding, and finished product of pet food for many companies including Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance, American Journey. I also spent over two years in retail expending my knowledge at various parts in a Walmart Super Center to assist customers with their needs.
I am currently in the raw ingredient lab analyzing incoming live loads. I test for Mycotoxin's, peroxide value, moisture, protein, fat. ash, and fiber. My equipment includes: Accuscan, saftest, and Foss NIR. I also Calibrate receiving scales, and meat room thermometers. On Weekends and when needed I cover finish product Lab which includes data entry of production runs, reviewing batch reports, Inputting Micro samples into lab data spread sheets, and scale calibration checks.
I spent six months at Northern Pelegic Group expanding my knowledge on the process of Pet food manufacturing, In my six months I learned how to adjust Moisture, Protein, and fat while production was running to meet customer specifications. I also learned which portions of animal gave the best analytical results by sampling, blending, and adding water in the lab. We then built data daily by reading these samples on the Foss NIR and in return were able to expand knowledge on how to achieve results needed.
Started as a cashier moved onto lawn and garden, and then proceeded to learn sporting goods, hardware, and dairy.
