Other departments I over saw included Endodontics, Oral Surgery, and the central sterilization room. While supervising these three departments simultaneously I remained an active assistant in all three departments.

Beaufort, Sc is Home to Parris Island Marine Corps recruit training command. While working on board recruit training, I assisted in over 200 root canals during my endodontic rotation.

Rotating also through oral diagnosis and acute care, and assisted in routine annual dental exams as well as appointments for patients in acute pain. However, a majority of my time was spent in recruit intake where I created initial dental records for over 1000 patents weekly,

including full series radiographs , forensic charting , and creating a treatment plan for each patient prior to being eligible for duty.

Aside from dental needs, I provided medical coverage to marines in field training exercises in field aid stations. Assessing and providing immediate field medical care to pts suffering from heat related injuries, independently performed incision and drainage procedures for pts presenting with severe cellulitis infections and follow up wound care, have assisted and performed toe nail removals, and stabilized pts with puncture wounds and impaired objects.
