THIRD GRADE TEACHER
VILLAGE OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
08.2022 - 06.2023
Seeing the need for increased literacy instruction, due to the recent change to FL BEST standards and FAST testing, my principal thought it best to relocate me to third grade.
As a third grade teacher, I am exclusively responsible for teaching reading/writing to students.
I have two classes that switch partway through the day where we go over grade-level phonics skills, as well as remedial phonics skills that they are missing due to COVID.
I teach on grade level ELA standards as per the curriculum guides given to us by CCPS.
With my extensive background in kindergarten, I have been able to get students to where they need to be in order to be successful with their reading skills.
KINDERGARTEN TEACHER
VILLAGE OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
01.2019 - 08.2022
As a kindergarten teacher, I had the opportunity to dive deep into the science of reading and develop lasting literacy skills that would help my students become better readers.
Students were taught many early phonetic and foundational skills that allowed them to develop into true readers, rather than previous ideals of rote memorization.
I got to develop lasting connections, with my students, that allow them to feel comfortable in the classroom to explore many areas of thought.
Students are challenged, in their work, to think critically and come up with their own ideas.
I make sure to maintain a very positive classroom atmosphere, in which every student feels comfortable enough to share their ideas and share their thoughts without feeling like their peers may judge them.
TEAM LEAD
VILLAGE OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
08.2020 - 06.2022

As a leader, I was in charge of overseeing all lessons/plans that were to be taught in all the Kindergarten classrooms.
I was in charge of ordering the supplies for the whole of the team, as well as making sure that each teacher had exactly what they needed in order to be successful.
I had the opportunity to attend specialty PD geared towards leadership strategies/best practices.
I had opportunities during the summer to lead district PD to peer teachers from all over Collier County.
