I volunteered weekly between 2018-2020 with a Refugee Ministry called Gateway of Grace, whose goal is to teach its Arabic and African Refugee students English, giving them the necessary tools to pursue further education and careers, making their transition into The United States as smooth as possible. We drive our ladies back and forth from the Church where our classes meet, engage them in a time we call the "Conversation Room", where they practice their English in conversation with each other and finally have one on one time with English Teachers who engage them at their level of skill. The intention of this English class is to expand their capacity to learn and engage in English, and in the process we have developed such rich relationships and have become huge parts of each other's lives. It is an honor to work alongside such beautiful, powerful leaders and dedicated, fearless students who have been through more than many of us could imagine. Together we have become like a small family, fighting for each other where necessary and celebrating each other's victories.
Upon relocation to Tampa, Florida for the pursuit of Bible College in 2020, I had the unique honor and privilege of serving in various aspects of the ministry of Revival Ministries International & The River at Tampa Bay Church. For a season, one of those departments was the Bus Ministry, where we coordinated and executed bus pickups for those who lacked transportation to and from Sunday morning services and Mon-Fri evening services. This required basic knowledge and understanding of Google Docs to create spreadsheets of pickups, understand their locations and creating a smooth and logical order of pickups for your assigned route. As a co-captain, this also required the ability to work as a team player and in unity, coordinating with the Captain and Bus Driver to ensure a successful and smooth route while handling multiple tasks in a fast paced setting. I served in this department for around a 6 month period and learned a tremendous amount.
As of August 2024, I completed the pilot program of a newly launched Bible College called Kingdom Bible Institute based out of Crossroads Community Church in Fitchburg, Ma. I decided to dedicate this past summer to pursing the education of the Bible and ministry and it has been extremely rewarding to say the least! I am extremely involved in my church and serve with the family ministries that also accompanies the school and will continue to help serve in different outreaches and capacities as the year continues and as long as I am here. It has been a great honor to be a part since relocating back to Ma.
