Power Delivery Designer II

LineWorks Engineering, LLC
12.2023 - Current

Specifically working very closely with the FPL team for FPL designs, reconductoring, ampacity upgrades and insulator replacement projects in Florida. Working in PLS-CADD & PLS Pole to design new transmission lines, current line ampacity upgrades, and insulator replacements. Modeling existing configuration in PLSCADD utilizing LiDAR and designing transmission lines to ensure efficiency and safety. Running EMF and damper calculations for designs to ensure guidelines are met. Calculating moment and blow out to follow client's requirements. Using NESC code as well as client criteria to determine pole placement and span lengths. Field visiting design areas to ensure no obstacles to design, working with real estate as needed to ensure land rights maintained and determining MOT and permits with construction team. Ordering all materials to complete project, including processing and pushing materials for ordering purposes. Compiling and checking accuracy of all paperwork before issuing to construction. Ensuring all permits required are submitted and will be ready when construction starts. Maintaining communication with FPL team on projects and giving updates. Compiling project books for projects as well as peer reviewing project books to ensure quality and completeness. Completing pole borings as well as ordering poles (HP1) and ensuring all materials will be ready for construction start date. Close communication with construction groups regarding any questions and concerns for the project promptly and accurately.

Distribution Designer II

• Working on the SPP-FH (Feeder Hardening) team analyzing existing circuits and upgrading circuits to meet new standards and to increase reliability. Includes analyzing structures such as poles and transformers, modeling poles in 2-D and 3-D utilizing Pole Foreman as well as G-Tech, designing assigned circuits and reconductoring when needed, and ordering accurate materials for crews to harden feeder lines. Managing excel files as well as OneNote pages of individual target poles and ensuring all poles in circuit are up to standards and designed efficiently.

• Osmose- Assisting in managing a team of 4 for the Osmose project, managing excel files, KMZ files and other customer driven data to ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner, QA/QC of projects and ensuring projects have appropriate materials ordered and optimal designs. Helping team members with any questions about designs, standards, and modeling of poles. Training of team members and and ensuring standards are met and exceeded at all times.
