Prior to receiving my RN license I worked as an HST on Acute Mental Health Unit at SPRTC from 2004-2008. I have been working as a Registered Nurse since 2008. I started out my Career in Acute Care/Med Surg from 2008-2013. During this time I worked on an Acute Care floor using many skills. Assessing status, assisting with ADLS, transcribing orders, inserting foley catheters, NG tubes, administering blood, interpreting lab results, starting IV's, wound care, and provided Education to patients and there families. I cared for all ages, including Pediatric patients. I worked in the Charge Nurse role and was a Preceptor to Nursing Students. I was also a resource in Same Day Surgery and Infusion Therapy. Following my time in Acute Care I worked on CRP from 2014-2016 as a Registered Nurse. I had to leave my job due to my Son's medical status/needs at the time. Since 2017 I have been working as Registered Nurse in Home Health for my Son. My Son qualified for Home Care Services due to his Medical needs. I provided the following care for him, assessments, documenting, taking vital signs, administering medications, placing/ changing his G-tube, NG tube, communicating with his Transplant Team. My Son is 2 years post Kidney Transplant and doing well. I am looking forward to working in Mental Health again. I am a very compassionate Nurse. I feel I am very successful at multitasking, using critical thinking, and being an excellent team player. I really love being a Nurse and the gratitude it brings me.
