Additional Information

  • The last year that I chaperoned at Frankfort Intermediate school I received the Unsung Hero Award. I was chaperoning in the cafeteria when a student began to choke. I was notified by another chaperone that the student was unable to breath or swallow. I immediately respondedi by running to her section and performed the Heimlich maneuver. Thankfully I was able to dislodge the obstruction in his airway. The students mother wanted everyone to know how grateful she and her son were that I was there that day. Thankful that I had the knowledge and ability to act quickly putting prior training into action.
