Cooking, and reading

Growing up everyone in my family knew how to cook, of course I learned a lot from both my grandmothers (Mom, and Dad).

Cooking, and reading

I grew up watching, and learning how to cook from my family. All my uncle's and aunt's on both my mother and father's sides of the family could bake, fry, grill, and saute any and everything. We all learned these skills from the grandmothers of both families, my grandmother Edna (mom's mother) had a bakery in N. Philly, and my grandmother Elsie (dad's mom) had a restaurant in N. Philly as well. So cooking has always been a big part of my life as a child.

My other hobby is reading, this is something that my father instilled in me at young age. Especially when I started elementary school, and moving on to high school. The first book he gave me to read was Tar Baby by Toni Morrison, which opened my eyes to the world around me. I was required to read a newspaper every week, and report back to him about what's going on in the world around me. His exact words to me were! There's more to this world then just the city of Philadelphia, so you need to know and understand that.
