Commitment to Student Success and Enrichment:
I am incredibly driven to ensure student success and provide genuinely enriching experiences. Throughout my career, I have supported students in a wide variety of pursuits, including:
College Application and Admissions Process:
I have assisted students with every step of the college application process, including the UC Admissions process, the Common App process, and the CCC application process. My guidance has helped many students secure admissions to their preferred institutions.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Internships and Jobs:
I have helped students find and secure CTE internships and job opportunities, ensuring they gain practical experience and valuable skills for their future careers.
Resourcefulness in a Rural School Setting:
Working at a rural school with limited resources, I took on the responsibility of filling in the gaps. I became a resource for students in any area of interest, providing support and guidance where needed.
Tutoring and Academic Support:
I have tutored several past students through their college years, helping them achieve academic success and stay on track with their educational goals.
Grant and Scholarship Applications:
I have assisted students with grant and scholarship applications, helping them secure funding for their education and reduce financial barriers.
It has always been my goal to be a resource to students in any possible area of interest, and I am grateful for the experiences that have equipped me to help all students, from kindergarten through college age, achieve their goals. I am passionate about giving my students every possible opportunity to succeed.
Dedication to Art Education:
I was the Art In Schools Liaison for approximately 10 years. This position was on a volunteer basis, through the California Arts Council. This program was grant based and included an extensive grant application that required portfolios and documentation. It was a matching grant, so I held a fundraiser each year to raise money to be matched. This effort secured approximately $10,000 dollars for art education each year. As part of this programming I personally organized and facilitated art classes, galleries, and directed 3 High School Spring Performance to include in our portfolio as well as providing students with art education.
Through the Covid lockdown I held Art Classes over Zoom 3 times per week and assisted a student in organizing weekly virtual paint and sip (tea) classes for students, staff, and community members.
I advised an Art Community and Culture Club for High School students and this included completely renovating an entire wing of our high school. The students and I applied for a grant to fund the project and received over $10,000 for renovations, art supplies, and equipment.
