Summary

  • As a teacher I take pride in being a dynamic educator with a proven track record at both Cherokee Middle School & Lenoir City Intermediate Middle School. I work hard to foster a safe classroom environment where student-centered learning is practiced every day. In creating a safe learning environment I know and practice the importance of building strong relationships with my students. I have strong classroom management skills and set a high bar of expectations for students. My experiences in my prior two schools have helped develop me into the educator I am today. Working in schools with such drastically different socio economic backgrounds has helped me to effectively learn to motivate diverse learners through engaging, hands-on activities in turn enhancing their academic achievement no matter their background, learning levels, or language barrier. I pride myself in the ability to create a supportive environment for ALL students. I am certified to teach all subjects K-8, but my fourteen years in education has been spent in Middle School Math. I have a strong background in mathematics education and a track record of fostering student understanding and engagement to find success. I look forward to the opportunity to join your team!
