My name is Amber Meader,
My desire to work in the Veterinary field began at age 3. I carried around my pink cat stuffy, and told everyone proudly that I want to be a "vegetarian" when I grow up.
By the time I was eight, I owned four guinea pigs. Two I owned since babies, and two I adopted from a hoarding situation. I loved raising them and providing them exemplary care by provide a huge variety of fruits, veggies, hay and treats. I sewed them fleece bedding, provided vitamin C, and plenty of toys! One of them ended up developing a cheek abscess a few years on, which was surgically corrected. It was then my job to care for her and make sure things were draining and I was giving her the medications properly. It was at this time that caring for these piggies and making them happy and comfortable made me want to do everything in my power to assure that all animals are happy and being properly cared for; and that has always been my first priority.
I graduated high school in 2022 after taking 3 years of Animal Science at the Dover High School technical program. I had many achievements there, which had helped me apply skills and knowledge to excel while studying Vet Tech at UNH. I began my first job working at Winichahanat Veterinary Care, where I stayed employed until I relocated. I began with kennel duties and have worked my way up within the practice working alongside Dr Timothy Hunt. He has been an amazing teacher while fostering my desire to excel in this field.
I am a multitasking Veterinary Assistant that offers great work ethic with excellent job attendance. I'm an animal lover with five animals of my own and four years of animal-related education, which has guided me through the 3.6 years of successfully working in a hospital aside veterinarians to assist them in their duties. I'm committed to learning new tasks to improve patient health and client experiences, and consider myself a highly motivated employee. I am responsible, hardworking, and passionate about animal welfare. I have a strong background of caring for my own animals, and my goal to provide that same level of care to patients. As well as a detail-oriented team player with strong organizational skills, I have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously (with accuracy) in a timely manner. I am willing to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals. I'm also flexible with my schedule.
