Resident supervision
undefinedMy accomplishment for one example is my individual CM, when I started working for the company she was just brought home from her day program and sat in a recliner all day. I changed her, she is now almost fully independent, she picks out her clothes herself everyday, she wheels herself *when shes not walking supervised with a walker* to the bathroom herself, she gets dressed by herself with no help, she shampoos and washes her body while showering herself. She enjoys making lunch for all of the other individuals in the house for their day program the next day. We hand over hand sharp knives when we make dinner, and she uses a butter knife when making lunches for the other individuals. She enjoys matching her clothes and being in the sun. She has a seizure protocol but besides that she is perfectly fine, besides also a speech impediment. She loves shopping and going out which she NEVER use to enjoy. She can now do word searches...people use to just give her a coloring book (children's) and let her color until one day I noticed she was ACTUALLY doing the word searches and doing them correctly. People gave her a lot less credit than she deserved. I have been "praised" by BCARC on my ability to work with this specific individual, and others. Another big accomplishment is LS an individual that wears a helmet for seizures but she is a self reporter. Her parents are very involved and I email with them weekly because they are so happy with the change in happiness and just how I get her out of the house so much and take her on trips to things shes actually interested in as Art Shows, Book Stores, Hancock Shaker Village, etc.
Honestly those are my two biggest accomplishments with these two specific individuals. I also have many certifications, too many to name that I can email and fax over.
I am extremely friendly, kind, and empathetic as I have said. I enjoy taking individuals out and getting them into the world. Giving them more credit then others do. I want them to enjoy the life they learn because we TRULY do not know what is going on in their brain. They've (and we) all have bad days, we just need to know how to handle them.
I love caregiving and think I would be the best fit for this position.

I absolutely caregiving. I know how to use a lift, I enjoy spending time with my individuals, playing games, and going out into the community. I like helping people just...do better. Were all people we all enjoy to live life to the fullest and thats all I want from caregiving. It gives ME joy it helps ME be a better person and I honestly don't know what I would do without it.
As I am open and honest about EVERYTHING in my life, I am a recovering addict. Caregiving gives me a purpose, it helps me stay on track and want to do better and better things with myself and FOR my individuals.
I hope this helps on a better perspective of who I am and what I am about.
Thank you for your time.
