Focusing on underserved youth, I created accessibility within the master schedule so that all students had access to CTE and VAPA courses by creating (and teaching) courses that were more than 50% Socio Economically Disadvantaged, English Language Learner or Students with Disability courses. I served as Department Chair, Principal's Leadership Team, & other various lead roles. I was also a mentor teacher, (helping new CTE teachers clear their credentials within the district) and served as a CTE liaison for the district.

During this time, I also write numerous grants, conducted Professional Development Grant writing PDs for Educators, and served as Vice President for California Teachers Association. Previous to being elected in that role, I served as a site representative.

Team Building and Leadership Process Improvement

  • Leveraging relationships with district partners to create and implement dual enrollment High Quality Career and Technical Education pathways for ALL students.
  • In the last two years, more than doubled the CTE Pathways and Dual Enrollment opportunities available for students, while writing grants to fund and sustain new growth.
