  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a volunteer recruitment strategy under the direction of the Life Stages Pastor and in partnership with the Children’s Pastor
  • Interact with people and communicate passionately about children’s ministry across all demographic groups within the church
  • Regularly maintain Sunday morning hours for recruitment and interaction with current and potential volunteers

Children’s Ministry Nursery Coordinator

  • The Nursery Coordinator oversees the 0-2-year-old classrooms during all three Sunday morning services. This position provides support and supervision to all lead teachers and volunteer support for three classrooms (nursery, one’s & two’s). Recruit and maintain volunteers who have a passion for influencing children’s lives with God’s love in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator. There is a minimum of 25 volunteers needed each Sunday.
  • Oversee all Sunday morning activity in the nursery area and classrooms before/during/after all services
  • Bring energy and enthusiasm in addition to a sense of comfort to children, parents, and volunteers
  • Bring attention to the Children’s Director any issues concerning children, parents or volunteers
  • Help keep classrooms open by teaching when necessary
  • Be aware of potential volunteers, recruiting of volunteers, increased commitment opportunities of existing volunteers and relay that information to Volunteer Coordinator
  • Make sure that children of the correct age are registered in their age appropriate classroom
  • Turn in registration forms before leaving on Sunday. Make sure all toys are clean and stored appropriately. Make sure toys are in working order. Dispose of broken or inappropriate toys.
  • Make sure that the rooms are stocked with name tags, snacks, changing table supplies (diapers, wax paper, gloves, baby wipes, hand sanitizers, diaper genie refills), Kleenex, cups, stocked first aid kits, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, etc. Report all missing supplies to the Children’s Ministry office.
  • Must attend at least one full church service each Sunday, (minimal exceptions)
  • Attend Children’s Ministry Staff Meeting – every Monday following the weekly 9:00 AM Staff Huddle
  • Eyes and ears for Children’s Director regarding Nursery
  • Ongoing recruitment of volunteers alongside the Volunteer Coordinator
  • Must complete ongoing training assignments delegated by the Children’s Director
  • Pray for the children, their families, and volunteers
  • Make sure Nursery area is ready for Sunday morning services
  • Check in with Volunteer Coordinator to maintain accurate volunteer database
