  • Detroit Medical Center/ Wayne State University, MI, Research elective, 07/2013, 08/2013, Worked in the Anti-Infective Research Laboratory in Wayne State University for two months as a research assistant. It was a NIH funded study on MRSA/VRE coinfection which looked at factors responsible for the transfer of vancomycin resistance from vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus to Staphylococcus aureus. Preliminary results have indicated that certain types of Staphylococcus aureus are more susceptible to receive the transfer of resistance than others.
