I was a bedside nurse on the cardio vascular step down unit for two and a half years. Taking care of pts through admission, pre and post cardiac surgeries, teaching and discharge. While at this job, I was honored to be recognized with another Daisy Award requested by a pt and his wife. My further experiences here include,

• During my nursing at EGH, I was in two different areas of care. I started my nursing carrier on Oncology Unit. I worked to get my chemotherapy certification while there. I cared for sick patients as well as administration of chemotherapy PO or IV. Lot of experience with central line care. After two years, I worked on intermediate medical care floor. Received a great amount of experience in all respiratory equipment, drains, tubes.
• Partnered with physicians, social workers, activity therapists, nutritionists and case managers to develop and implement individualized care plans and documented all patient interactions and interventions in electronic charting systems.
• Delivered outstanding care to patients with various diagnoses and managed care from treatment initiation through to completion.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process and management and lifestyle management.
