  • Approved all purchases for the resources required for surgery.
  • Collaborated with the VA hospital (collocated on-site) for all patient care and operating room coordination.
  • A member of a team that moved perioperative services into a new facility expanding the footprint from 12 OR suites to 26.
  • Supervised the OR Supply moving from a decentralized climate to a centralized sterile supply; outlining the processes and developing a workflow to deliver supplies to the clinical staff.

  • Responsible for the life cycle management of the biomedical devices at 21 medical activities in and around Fort Sam Houston, TX within a property book of $360M.
  • Responsibility for approving Capital Equipment Expense Program recommendations based on technology advancement, maintenance cost drivers, and business case analysis of requirements.
  • Serves as the Chief, Clinical Engineering in their absence.
  • Served as the Biomedical Lead for the 125% expansion of Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC).
  • This included coordinating site prep for capital equipment, managing changing timelines and competing requirements from HFPA, Corps of Engineers, USAMMA, Patient Care, Contractors and the mission of keeping the current hospital operations to MEDCOM Standard.

  • Manages the maintenance and operational readiness of a 248 bed Deployable Combat Support Hospital consisting of MEPMEDS equipment valued in excess of 84 million dollars.
  • Serves as a mentor to all subordinate leaders ensuring all technicians maintain their technical skills.
  • Serves as rater for one NCO and Senior rater for two NCOs.
  • Serves as the Hospital Safety Officer.
  • Served as the SME for all medical equipment during the turnover of Ibn Sina Hospital back to the country of Iraq while setting up a new facility on Victory Base.
  • This required developing the database of equipment that was eligible for turnover but would not impact the patient care mission of the hospital.
  • The required a series of meeting with the Prime Ministers’ staff and DOD in order to reach an agreement on what would be transferred.
  • Worked alongside the Corps of Engineers to renovate the Victory Base facility to accommodate the hospital Level One Trauma Mission and ensure site prep for CT Scanner was completed on site for hospital transfer.
  • Requested by the government of Iraq to inspect clinics that were being built to support local nationals for life safety code deficiencies and help them develop a plan of action to become compliant.
  • Managed the equipment maintenance for 5 satellite locations as the hospital mission expanded across the battlefield.
  • Recognized as the Flagship Organization for our utilization of Standard Army Maintenance System- Enhanced (SAMS-E) being the first CSH to have complete visibility to higher headquarters.
