Summary

As a passionate educator, I extend my teaching knowledge to explore ways to engage my students and colleagues in meaningful learning opportunities. Because of this, I have been recognized a leader in my district taking on a lead-teacher role to be a voice on behalf of my students and colleagues. This has also allowed me to teach in a very unique learning environment. Working with others, I helped design and create a multi-age, collaborative space in our middle school called Create. Create is a personalized-learning space where students have more voice and choice in their learning. Because of my work on this approach to learning, I have been recognized by my district. I was awarded the "Innovator Award" and several of my former students have nominated me to teaching awards.
