• Assessment and triage of patients being seen in the center and via telephone communications.

• In June 2022, began hybrid position within clinic to include half time clinic duty and half time surgery scheduling and assisting with minor procedures. Have built rapport with departmental surgeons, APP's and other departments as being a leader who provides solutions to benefit patient and care team alike. This includes different clinics, social work, nutrition, and inpatient units

• Circulating and scrub duties aimed at the treatment of cancer across a multitude of services to include: breast, soft tissue/melanoma, head and neck, GI, gynecology, urology, thoracic and neurosurgery. Also includes free flap surgeries in breast and head and neck
• Ensure sterile technique and field is maintained
• Review of patient's information, allergies, medical conditions, labs, pre-op testing and consents prior to surgery
• Maintain patient comfort pre-intubation and assist anesthesia with intubation
• Assist with patient positioning, hook up necessary equipment and hand off sterile
goods/instruments/medications as needed
• Maintain overall picture of the patient's health status during surgery and assisting anesthesia with any needed blood products, labs, fluids and/or medications
• Ensure correct counts are maintained and all items are accounted for in conjunction with the surgical technologist
• Transfer to PACU or ICU

• Service Line Coordinator for breast, plastics, organ recovery and outpatient surgeries/procedures
• Works closely with surgeons, SPD, materials handling and vendors to ensure proper equipment, instruments, implants, tools and items are available for each procedure
• Assumes leadership to ensure staff is educated and competent on the procedure and any specialty equipment to be used during the procedure
• Coordinates in servicing with vendors for specialized equipment to maintain competency
• Also includes circulating duties

• Management of a 16 bed Operating Room, plus two urology suites and one outpatient suite to include general, plastics, robotics, minor vascular, orthopedics, and urology surgeries and staff
• Scheduling of staff as well as maintaining proper staffing levels on a continual basis
• Handling of any issues that may arise during the day, as well as on call responsibilities/after hours support
• Collaboration with other members of the management team, surgeons, staff and vendors alike.

• Ensure required equipment and supplies are in the OR
• Set up the OR in accordance to the surgery's/surgeon's requirements
• Ensure sterile technique and field is maintained

• Critical management of patients on an 18 bed unit to include: Titration of vasopressor, sedative, and paralytic medications
• Management of mechanical ventilation
• Initiation and management of hypothermia protocol
• Extraventricular device management
• Post operative management of surgical patients to include: craniotomy, traumatic brain injury, spinal surgery, abdominal surgery, vascular surgery and post TPA administration
• Invasive monitoring using central lines, EVD's and arterial lines
• Assist with line placement and intubation

• Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient care staff in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice
• Patient care on a busy 32 bed post operative surgical unit including: Gynecological, neurological, orthopedic and general abdominal surgeries
• Pharmacological and non-pharmacological management and treatment of various disorders and diseases
• Participate in and facilitate patient and family teaching
• General nursing duties to include assessment, medication administration, admissions, discharges, teaching and end of life care
• Charge nurse duties to include: Participates in the overall planning, organizing, directing, decision making and evaluation of the delivery of nursing care
• Responsible for assisting in the management of resources necessary and appropriate for the provision and achievement of positive patient outcomes
• Handles and resolves problematic situations that should arise during the shift.

• Acute patient care in a sub acute unit, adeptly handling all aspects of treatment from medication administration to wound care monitoring

• Work in close conjunction with the Director of Health Services and other faculty and staff to assess, treat and prevent biological and psycho-social health deviations

• Provide moral support to students seeking guidance and counseling.
