I have been a Nurse since 1990. I graduated from a local college. I’ve worked in many areas of nursing and feel that my skills and knowledge are strong and will continue to grow. I’ve have been in healthcare as long as I can remember and I still enjoy it today.
I started out on Med/Surg as a staff nurse and moved into the Charge nurse position shortly after I started. The past 18 months I have worked as House Supervisor on night shift. I have enjoyed this new roll and have learned a tremendous amount about management and staffing.
RN Medical/ Surgical unit as well as ICU and Emergency Room. I worked as Charge Nurse and relief House Supervisor.
During my time at Evergreen Home Care I learned a lot about Medicare and Medicaid guidelines as it relates to nursing in the home setting. I was responsible for coordinating the care of patients in their home. This included frequent home assessments and communications with physicians and other specialties involved in patients care.
At EMS I started out as a staff RN on the medical/ pediatric unit. I was promoted to nurse manager after a while. This was a 40 bed unit including 5 step down beds. We cared for a wide variety of patients on this unit.
While working at DGH I work on the pediatric unit as well as mother/baby unit. I cared for newborns and children up to the age of 18 with a wide variety of conditions. I became charge nurse on my shift after some time. I also went on many infant and pediatric transfers to other hospitals in the Ambulance. I became PALS and NALS certified during that time.
