Work History

Manager, Clinical Placement Operations

OHSU School of Nursing
01.2021 - Current
  • I manage operations and compliance for 1,100 nursing students enrolled in 17 programs across five OHSU campuses. My responsibilities include hiring, onboarding, and training new team members, budgeting, and overseeing departmental staff needs to ensure timely task completion. I oversee and monitor compliance requirements from matriculation through the duration of the programs. Additionally, I collaborate with stakeholders on the development of policies and procedures while fostering relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • I help set and maintain school goals, policies, and reporting requirements for agencies such as the OHA, SHW, OCNE, OBN, and other accrediting bodies. I regularly evaluate and review processes for opportunities for improvement. Currently, I am the project lead for transitioning the nursing school from the Complio database to OHSU EXXAT, which includes the build-out and integration development with Enterprise Health. This is OHSU's enterprise-wide system reconfiguration and integration project.

Rotation Coordinator, Department of Community Dentistry

OHSU School of Dentistry
01.2019 - 01.2021
  • I collaborated directly with leadership, faculty, community dental directors, preceptors, and students to determine the academic year dental rotation schedules. I placed 75 students at rotation sites, assisted with onboarding processes, and worked on housing arrangements as well as inter-professional course requirements (I-CAN and IPE). I monitored students’ progress throughout the year for multiple course mandates required for graduation. I helped students proactively address rotation challenges instead of remaining in a constant reactive state. I also supported fellow departments, including Academic Affairs and Human Resources, as needed. Additionally, I was responsible for HRSA and SPAP grant reporting and monitoring for the department and committee. I supported all departmental administrative needs, including IT, Sakai, Exam Soft, AxiUm, Oracle, Cognos (data entry), MS Teams, MS Office Suite, SmartSheet, Drupal, and CommonSpot.

Director of Dental Operations

Columbia Basin Health Association
01.2018 - 01.2019
  • I was responsible for the recruitment and training of hard-to-fill positions. I reviewed and developed job descriptions to meet the department's needs across an area that covered over 4,000 square miles. I created a department onboarding program to address compliance training challenges that were identified. I developed staff schedules, maintained payroll hours, and monitored budget variances. I counseled employees and was involved in hiring and termination decisions when performance issues arose. I also managed difficult and sensitive issues related to both the organization and community perceptions. I ensured compliance with federal and state laws, including FMLA and Washington’s FLA, and addressed legal actions (such as discriminatory lawsuits) pending within the organization. I collaborated with all disciplines at the FQHC facility to meet strategic expectations and have experience with iCims, Eagle Soft, Outlook, and Microsoft applications.

Director of Training & Development

DENTAL SERVICE, LLC
01.2016 - 01.2017
  • I worked directly with leadership and employees across 11 offices in multiple states, comprising 232 employees, to identify and address infrastructure needs. I developed and led training in diverse environments, applying active listening to ensure employees' issues and challenges were thoroughly addressed. I revamped job descriptions and reorganized employee responsibilities to enhance workflow and capitalize on strengths and weaknesses. I advertised employment opportunities, selected and interviewed candidates, and referred them to clinic managers for optimal placements based on clinical fit. I worked one-on-one with new hires and recent graduates during onboarding to ensure they received the best possible support for success right from the start. I created and implemented training content, materials, policies, and procedures, along with a New Employee program based on industry standards and input from subject matter experts. My experience includes utilizing social media for job postings, Eagle Soft, Open Dental, Medicaid/Medicare websites, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Evolve/Elsevier.

Program Director/Faculty

HEALD COLLEGE
01.2012 - 01.2015
  • Taught a diverse student population of more than 70 students in clinical and classroom settings. Led and participated in campus and departmental meetings. Administered and maintained policies and procedures while expanding the college program during CODA accreditation. Prepared budget and maintained cost control. Assisted student population and department employees in sensitive issues needing attention and resolution – helped individuals understand challenges faced and the choices they needed to make. Worked in large groups with community members to place students for external rotations, as well as resolving issues that came up while students were on rotation. Experience with various Higher Education systems/software, Dentrix, Evolve/Elsevier.
