Summary

With 20+ years of experience in teaching I believe all humans have the desire to learn new concepts and ideas, how much they want to learn and whether they can implement what they are learning is where a teacher comes in. I hope to foster critical thinking and develop problem solving skills, help facilitate life learning skills and prepare students to function effectively in and out of the classroom.

I try to accomplish this through a combination of lectures, group projects, individual projects, worksheets and homework. Assessment is daily through quizzes which helps to keep them on task and staying responsible for their learning. Quizzes are returned next class so students can quickly assess their own understanding. Exams are used to assess their longer term comprehension and involve more critical thinking.
