I am very passionate about nursing. Education is the key to success in every role I have ever been in. When you educate nurses you are not only learning yourself but you empower the nurses around you. I am very resourceful, organized, and never willing to ask anyone to do something that I would not be willing to do myself. I take pride in supporting my staff by always having an open door policy to ensure that I am open to whatever is best for the organization I work for and best practices. I am a good listener, my staff always want to follow me because I support them and encourage them to be better.

When I did pediatrics I specialized in tracheostomies, ventilators, and gastrostomy tube feedings. I taught all the classes for the nurses that went into the patient's homes to provide care.

Since being in long-term care, I have always focused on processes to be successful in survey management. However, I have had several deficient free surveys. As a regional nurse consultant, I have helped my four buildings here in NC have great survey outcomes by recognizing risk management issues and putting a successful plan of corrections in place.
