Provided leadership in strategic and daily operations through collaboration with senior and departmental leaders. Developed and implemented performance standards to enhance quality care, clinical practice and professional growth. Fostered collaborative partnerships with medical leaders within the Section of Emergency Medicine and Trauma/Burn programs.

Key achievements

• Led multiple quality and patient safety initiatives that led to safer care, improved nursing documentation, efficiency and throughput of patients through the ED. This resulted in decreased wait times and improved satisfaction.
• Anschutz ED recognized throughout Children's Hospital 2019 Magnet document with 7 exemplars, most related to nurse led initiatives to improve quality and evidence-based care at the bedside.
• Led the first submission for an Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award which recognizes top emergency departments that demonstrate excellence in leadership, education, advocacy, and research. The ED was recognized with this award by the ENA in 2019.

Network of Care Emergency Departments, Urgent Cares and Inpatient Units

Provided leadership in strategic and daily operations of the Network of Care EDs, UCs and Inpatient units. Collaborated with senior and unit leaders to identify and develop organizational objectives. Matrix responsibilities and oversight of Children's Colorado South Campus clinical support operations including peri-operative services, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, lab, and radiology.

Key Achievements

• Led a patient safety initiative related to suicide screening of patients presenting for care in the ED/UC setting. Recognized as a best practice by the Joint Commission.
• Partnered with behavioral health and ED/UC leadership to develop an innovative mental health tele-health program.
• Chaired performance management taskforce representing the Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services.
