I had to work nights for 10 years. Before being a team leader at Jack in the Box, I was an assistant manager at Wendy's for 3 years and They sold the store; therefore, many of us thought a better place with better profits would be ideal. That's why I found Jack in the Box. I started as an assistant manager, and because my husband changed his schedule, I had to step down to Team Leader and work at night for 10 years.
What I liked about my job is that it helped me control food, such as checking date-quality and making sure the products were well-stocked and organized.
On the employee side, I made sure I was kind to clients, always with a smile. If I couldn't handle a situation, they could come to me for help. I also ensured the customer was aware of their uniform, that it looked clean, and that we were busy doing something like stacking, cleaning, or preparing.
Customers are the ones that everyone often doesn't want to face, and sometimes it's not easy, but we know that the client is always right! Many times, when they are angry or agitated, it's nothing personal with us. It could be because of heavy traffic or that they are very tired, or something else affected them, and you don't have to take it personally.

I worked at Love's Truck Stop for another 10 years, from October 12, 2011, to October 11, 2021. I was working two jobs: Jack in the Box and Love's Truck Stop. I was just a cashier, taking care of customers, helping them with what they needed, waiting on them with a smile, and always offering something else. For example, if a customer bought beer, I would first ask for ID and then ask if they wanted chips or hot dogs. It is always good to offer customers chips, soda, or ice. For 10 years, I never sold a minor a cigarette or beer; I always questioned their ID. Cleaning and stocking the area is also very important, as is checking for more sales or forgotten items that have been found. Having a lot of money is not good as it attracts thieves, who may come back later when the person is alone.It is very important to always take precautions, taking into account the cash limit in the register, and to drop large bills and large amounts of cash.
Right now, I've been at Chevron for almost 4 years, and they're closing the store in 2 weeks because they bought it to expand the freeway.
