My name is Ana VanLandingham and I am currently in my 6th year of teaching. My husband and I moved to Long Beach, MS the summer of 2025. I am currently working at Anniston Avenue Elementary in the Gulfport School District as a 4th grade ELA teacher. I have learned a considerable amount over the last 6 years and am still gaining information on how to be the best educator that I can be. I appreciate as much feedback as I can get because I aspire to grow and learn so I can best equip students to be successful in the classroom and life. I believe that collaboration and communication is a substantial part of teaching, which is an important aspect of my professional and personal development. Every day, I strive to give my best for each student that walks through the doors of our school. I have learned different ways to manage a classroom, but it all leads back to meaningful relationships.
As the only 4th grade reading teacher at Anniston Ave. Elementary, responsibilities included working with the special education and ELL teachers to make sure accommodations were met for those students who received services. Other responsibilities also included planning and teaching weekly lessons that were based on the standard of the pacing guide, testing the students on them, and then remediating which standards needed to be reviewed.
