Education

Bachelor of Science - Computer Science

West Virginia University Institute of Technology | Beckley | 05-2023
  • Additional Coursework in Software Engineering: Given a sample organization which wanted to go completely digital, create a Proposal Document, Software Requirement Specification Document, and High Level Design Documentation, and related Diagrams: Flow Chart, Data Flow Diagram, HIPO Diagram, etc.
  • Additional Coursework in Artificial Intelligence: Created an Image Detection Program called: Street Sign Differentiation, in Python which would bring out any street sign in any given picture. This program would crop the image and highlight the street sign and then display what kind of street sign it is.
  • Digital DVR, Capstone Project: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - West Virginia Charleston Mission, is an Organization which has approximately 100 vehicles in its fleet. The organization monitors mile allotments, fuel consumption, and odometer readings. Each day, the volunteers who use the vehicles are to report their odometer readings to the administrator who must have relevant information by the 5th of the following month. The current system is done on paper and is given to the administrator via mail, email, and text messaging. Throughout the years, this has proven very inefficient, therefore, the solution was to create a Web-Application using HTML, Javascript, and CSS, Bootstrap and Firebase which will be more efficient for more both the drivers and the administrator. Before starting on the implementation of the Web-Application, design of the User Interface was needed in terms of creating specific documents such as Proposal Documentation, Software Requirement Specification Documentation, and High Level Design Documentation. After these initial documentation, additional documentation was needed such as, Software Design Documentation, User Manual, and Ethics Documentation.
  • As a result of the Project, there are two users: Missionaries/Drivers and the Vehicle Coordinator/Administrator. The Missionary will be able to use the Web-Application on their Mobile Phone while the Vehicle Coordinator will be able to use the Web-Application on a Desktop PC. The Missionary will be able to View Vehicle Information such as Make, Model and Year of the Vehicle Assigned to them, Enter Odometer Readings, and Entering Gas Information which includes submitting an image of the Gas Receipt. The Vehicle Coordinator/Administrator will have full access to the Firebase Firestore NOSQL database by being able to Add Users, Remove Users, Edit Users, Add Vehicles, Edit Vehicle and Vehicle Location, Remove Vehicle, View Individual Monthly DVR Report for Particular Vehicle, View Monthly DVR Report for ALL Vehicles in the organization, and Enter Odometer and Gas Information for any particular vehicle should their mobile device not work.
