As a student researcher, I take the lead in and ownership of my findings about each pillar via written brief reports or presentations. These pillars are as follows:

Social Determinants of Health: we are creating a nutrition intervention for black mothers to reduce the maternal mortality rate. We also intend to create projects for mental health and nutrition security.

Health Equity Index: we are creating a health equity index by agreeing on a standardized definition of health equity and identifying relevant metrics to create the index. This will be used by health care companies to assess their services for populations.

Workforce of the Future: We are launching a study where you will shadow physicians in Beacon Health System to identify areas that can be filled by generative AI. We are also investigating how community health workers can fill the gaps of larger hospitals.

Beyond HR: As employees go back into their communities after a long work day, how can their employer best support them? We will determine how Human Resources can support their employees best.

I stay abreast of the latest news and research in health equity, specifically, as it pertains to social determinants of health, health care, generative artificial intelligence, policy work, and within industry. I have extensive experience in communications by shaping the content of periodic newsletters to our partners.

• Dr. Joshua Koen's Memory, Aging, and Cognition Lab - investigates the cognitive processes of human memory and aging by studying the basic processes involved in healthy memory, as well as the causes of memory impairments associated with age, injury and disease
• We also investigate on what human memory's main neural processes are and how they function for different age groups:
• Conduct EEG/eye-tracking experimental sessions
• run participants through a neuropsychological battery
• segment brain regions (perirhinal cortex, entorhinal cortex, etc.) through ITK-SNAP
• conduct behavioral sessions
• use eye-tracking and computer programming (MATLAB) for sleep scoring and EEG analysis

• Assembling and analyzing a retrospective clinical-translational database of patients treated with radiation therapy at Penn State to derive models prognosticating the efficacy and toxicity of radiation for cancer patients. This is an IRB-approved master project that includes:
• analyses of patient clinical data (e.g., demographics including health disparities, tumor type/histology, and cancer stage)
• translational data (e.g Results of pathologic immunohistochemistry and genomics
• technical data (e.g Radiation doses, radiotherapy technology used) Particular emphasis is on lung cancer research projects including brain metastases and radiosurgery
• Additionally, I assisted in Dr. Joseph Miccio's data collection efforts using PowerChart for patients undergoing treatment for thoracic tumors with MRI guidance. I recently submitted two abstracts related to this work to Frontiers in Radiation Oncology and the 2023 North America Conference on Lung Cancer.

• In my role as a researcher at the Creighton University School of Medicine's Cancer Research Lab, I work alongside medical students as part of the Medical Research Assistance and Mentorship Program (MED-RAMP).
• Our focus is on studying rare cancers documented in the National Cancer Database (NCDB) under the guidance of Dr. Silberstein.
• Our primary objective is to enhance cancer prognostic indicators by investigating lesser-explored cancers within the NCDB. This involves analyzing patient data and using our findings to generate abstracts and papers for publication.

• At the University of Notre Dame, the Journal of Undergraduate Research serves as the premier undergraduate research journal.
• We are committed to choosing and disseminating the most outstanding original academic research produced by students enrolled in Notre Dame's oldest college.
• As a member of the editorial board and layout coordinator for the board, I perform a rigorous review process in collaboration with my colleagues to represent the best research across all academic disciplines within the college.
• We aim to make our high-quality essays available to the greatest number of readers by distributing the Journal both in print and online.

• The ND Marching Band traveled to Jacksonville, FL for the annual Bowl Game
• The ND Marching Band is traveling to Dublin, Ireland to play for the Shamrock Series (2023).

• Under the direction of Dr. Udai Singh in the College of Pharmacy, my research explores the benefits of Resveratrol and its stable metabolites (specifically Piceatannol), its beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders, and ultimately its potential therapeutic use for metabolic diseases in individuals
• I have been granted a biweekly stipend by the UTHSC to conduct my research this summer.

• Under the supervision Dr. Kui Li, I studied virus-host interactions that regulate pathogenesis and outcome of RNA virus infections.

• Sleep Scoring/EEG Analysis: Dr. Jessica Payne, University of Notre Dame's Sleep, Stress, and Memory (SAM) Lab
• I was tasked with analyzing participants' EEG recordings and sleep scoring using MATLAB; based on these results, I determined if they had a specific sleep disorder, like sleep apnea, narcolepsy, etc.
