  • Therapy sessions include helping students to improve their overall strength, range of motion, coordination, balance and active movement through a variety of techniques, gross motor play and use of therapeutic balls, bands or other equipment.
  • Instruct and educate educational staff in range of motion, stretching, lifting, transfers, positioning and use of therapeutic equipment so that daily classroom routines can be carried over safely.
  • Assist and instruct students with walking and mobility using a variety of walkers, gait trainers, adaptive bikes, manual wheelchairs and power wheelchairs.
  • Assist families with ordering of equipment to include bracing, wheelchairs, standers, gait trainers and other durable medical equipment as needed. Work closely with vendors and doctors to help obtain the most appropriate equipment.
  • Attend IEPs, staffings and other meetings as related to students’ educational needs, disabilities or staff/parent concerns.
