I am an energetic Engineer looking for an exciting and busy role where I can showcase my ability to work hard under pressure and deliver superior attention to detail. With the right attitude, I believe this is an industry I will be able to excel within and I am looking forward to proving myself. I am happy to work in a team or as an individual and understand the constantly shifting nature and timescales of the work within this industry.
This position was purely taken on to explore the idea of: Would I like to work on bigger yachts, would I like the bigger crew, would I enjoy the engine room, etc.
I have found and understood that I enjoy 60m yachts way more. It is what know best and what I am most good at, what I have been trained for. This position has lead me to know where I will most enjoy my next long term commitment and where I will be focusing my career development into chief ultimately, on a 60m.

After four years on Formosa, I decided I need to see another yacht and to take some time off to renew my CoC, medicals, STCW and seamans book as well as surf and travel a bit.
I then joined this vessel as a temp to get back into the swing of things. bit nervous at first, but quickly realized that the years of working on FORMOSA under the Chief Engineer Olivier's guidance prepared me more than I could have imagined. I grasped and understood the engine room very quickly. I really enjoyed the experience and really boosted the confidence I have in my abilities.
I joined, finished the yard by servicing the 3x MTU generators and 2x MTU main engines in couple days and departed for the crossing from spain to caribbean with no issues.
We then went straight into a charter which went extremely smooth after which my relief position ended.

On this vessel I learnt to work hands on with all aspects of the yacht. From the mains, generator, electrical, sewage, freshwater, AC, basic AVIT, tenders, toys, stabs, all maintenance, yards, crossings, etc. We have MTU mains and caterpillar generators. I was lucky enough to work under a brilliant chief engineer that has taught and given me many different skills and experiences, which I will always appreciate, cherish and use to grow as an engineer.

On this vessel I worked as a temp relief 4th engineer to break into the yachting industry and see what it takes and how the systems work. I enjoyed this experience and used it to fuel my drive to become a good super yacht engineer.
On this vessel I worked extremely hard to gain the knowledge and experience I would later need. Due to my extensive studies, projects and efforts I knew this vessel and most importantly the engine room and associated pipelines and equipment with the greatest understanding. Apart from my normal engine cadet duties I was entrusted with routine watchkeeping, procedures and additional tasks and jobs above my rating without fault. I showed interest in all aspects and thrived to learn everything I could from electrical, mechanical, navigational, as well as deck related routine and maintenance.
On this vessel I worked extremely hard as she was fairly older and had greater challenges daily. I got thrown in the deep end on this vessel facing extreme challenges such as unimaginable heat in the engine room due to the areas she operated in and out-dated design, with continuous break downs and never ending maintenance, alarms, pipelines failing, generators barely coping with the load at hand. She was by far my utmost favorite vessel to motor on and will always have my utmost respect. This vessel taught me a lot and pushed me harder than I have ever been pushed before.
I was on board this vessel just under a month, due to a medical condition of a re-occurring shoulder dislocation I had obtained from an injury several years back. My sporty background had caused this early sign off and the company requested I get the corrective surgery before continuing my cadetship. I flew home and immediately sought medical advice and had undergone the surgery.
With the commitment to rehabilitate my shoulder with extensive physiotherapy I requested to continue my workshop training shortly after the surgery. After completion I had requested for a ship which I had prepared for physically and mentally. I knew exactly what I had to do and how I was going to do it in order to reach my highest potential.
