Achievements and Career Highlights

• Collaborated with staff and administration to move the school to the highest performing school in the district for consecutive years between 2017-2021.
• Looped with the same class over a five year period, strengthening performance outcomes, student behavior and a strong teacher student relationship.
• Developed concrete understanding of curriculum progression and skill building allowing for anticipation of common misconceptions.
• Served as East Orange Education Association (EOEA) union building representative, acting as a liaison between staff and administration and facilitating the resolution of teacher grievances.
• Classes scored above district and state average on state standardized assessments.
• Instructed English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learner (ELL) students within the mainstream classroom from various countries and cultural backgrounds. Trained in Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP).

Upper Grades (Grades 4-5):

• Design lesson plans to support students' learning styles, differentiating through small group instruction to meet the needs of each learner.
• Worked continuously to drive student performance improvements. During the current school year 95% of current students showed progress towards annual growth on mid-year iReady Diagnostic.
• Currently specializing in English Language Arts within an Elementary Departmentalization structure, instructing 70+ students in Fifth Grade English Language Arts.
• Teacher Tutor within fourth and fifth grade classrooms, which involved working closely with classroom teachers, analyzing student performance data and planning lessons for various learning styles, using differentiation and scaffolding.
• Lead Teacher for grade level which involved mentoring novice teachers and modeling lessons to help teachers implement effective instructional strategies and establish teacher best practices.
• Facilitated a staff development workshop to demonstrate how to incorporate technology platforms in lessons.

Lower Grades (Grades K-2)
