  • Work with the Assistant Director director with the daily operations of the Program. Provide all as clerical support to the Upward Bound Program, which includes ensuring all travel arrangements for staff, scheduling appointments and meetings for staff and maintaining the budget and the student database for the program. Trains and supervises student and part time office staff.
  • Do all purchasing for the program using a state P Card. Maintain and submit all required paperwork to the Business Office. Keep track of program budget.
  • Coordinates the employment of academic and summer staff. Schedules and assists with staff interviews to secure qualified personnel for the UB program. Prepares all necessary forms to hire academic and summer staff.
  • Assists director with the summer program component activities. Assignments include but are not limited to the coordination summer employment placements; food service; residential accommodations; classroom scheduling and reservations; transportation reservations and purchasing classroom materials and supplies needed, etc.
  • Maintain student database to track and update all student files. Database is used to file annual report to U.S. Department of Education to maintain funding
  • Assist in coordinating follow-up meetings and senior graduation. This includes contacting speakers, emailing notices to participants, arranging for on campus facilities, and making all meeting materials available to participants.
  • Arranges and schedules a variety of appointments and meetings relative to Upward Bound; schedule use of various meeting rooms, classrooms and buildings
