Job overview

  • Establishing data governance plan for the organization and implementing in the form of policies and practices appropriate to the different relationship each role has to data creation, use, and proliferation at the organization.
  • Works closely with the Sr. Director Tech to guide engineering decisions so that they produce data and data structures that not only align with governance policies, but are able to be integrated into the data stack and flow as seamlessly as possible.
  • Leads multiple cross-departmental work groups each focused on a specific projects. These projects have covered a number of focus areas, some of the results include: creating and establishing new decision making structures for our organization, better data collection requirements for staff in order to decrease administrative burden in balance with meeting reporting needs.
  • Leads our Data Operations group, includes members from departments across the organization and provides a space for regular communication around data needs, best practices, security, issues, etc. Under the Data Governance work this group has become a hub for supporting and proliferating the policies and best practices.
  • Leads team of two – data analyst and data manager – that have effectively launched, grown, and maintained our BI tool from scratch, have continuously improved the state of our data architecture so that we can deliver real-time data insights more efficiently than ever before. We have increased our capacity to process requests for data, data changes, new dashboards, and internal reports through standardized communication channels, scalable templates and maximizing the potential of our dashboarding tool.
  • Regularly collaborates with and presents to our executive team, directly contributing to board presentations as well.
  • Set data and eval strategy for the organization in collaboration with the VP of Evaluation & Impact and the Director of Evaluation.
