Full Professor/Flight Dispatch Coordinator

Program Leadership:

  • Lead the Flight Dispatch concentration, ensuring full FAA compliance and maintaining all required records
  • Serve as lead instructor for Introduction to Aerospace, Aviation Weather, Advanced Aviation Weather, Aviation Laws and Regulations, and Flight Dispatch I & II courses
  • Developed comprehensive curriculum for multiple courses within the aerospace program
  • Coordinate internships, co-ops, field trips, and industry guest speaker programs


Research and Innovation Leadership:

  • Co-founded and served as primary leader of the groundbreaking NASA Flight Operations Center-Unified Simulation (FOCUS) laboratory - the first civilian high-fidelity simulation lab of its kind
  • Led the FOCUS lab for 10 years, creating an integrated training environment where senior students operated a virtual airline, while faculty implemented operational triggers and disruptions
  • Pioneered educational approach that eliminated academic silos by requiring cross-functional teamwork, communication, and coordination to run effective and safe virtual airline operations

  • After passing their FAA examinations, I would conduct debriefing sessions to gather feedback and ensure I knew any changes in the FAA exams. From these debriefing sessions, I would revise the instructional methods, study materials, and assessment methods to help future students be successful in obtaining their FAA maintenance certifications.
