  • Manages & reconciles Sp Ed Department budget monthly and annually, keeps detailed logs of all Sp Ed expenses, order requests, costs and payments to vendors.
  • Works with Office Mangers at all NUSD sites on specific projects such as orders of curricula, classroom furniture and materials, Para II placements and timesheets.
  • Works with NUSD Accounts Payable and Business Office to ensure Sp Ed payments accurate, paid in a timely manner & on budget. Codes all Sp Ed timesheets for Payroll monthly.
  • Works closely with HR to ensure Sp Ed staffing gaps are filled. Hires professionals from multiple staffing agencies, ensures all credentials are correct & up to date, locates & places substitutes.
  • Creates POs & orders protocols, testing and assessments materials for School, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists and Teachers from 16 NUSD sites.
  • Creates POs for range of external vendors, Non Public Schools (NPS); Non Public Agencies (NPA), Legal Settlements.
  • Creates individual POs for monthly payments to NPSs & NPAs for each student. Pays and logs payments, keeps track of student's services and service minutes to ensure charges and payments are correct.
  • Creates detailed outgoing Invoices by maintenance of highly specific and accurate spreadsheets of incoming invoices, services and costs for Reimbursement requests from SELPA for specific costs as Extended school year (ESY) Medically fragile students, Low Incidences Assistive Technology, DSE & Captain Cadre grants.
  • Creates Individual Service Agreements (ISA) for each student and Vendors who will be of cost to the Sp Ed dept.
  • Creates MOU for external professionals who conduct Independent Education Evaluations (IEE), ensures they are DOJ& TB records are filed with HR, reconciles their invoices and payments accordingly.
  • Works with Confidential Settlements to ensure parents, legal firms and NPS/NPAS's are paid in a timely manner according to NUSD legal Agreements.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies, furniture and resources, places orders for Sp ED DO office and Sp Ed community meetings.
  • Continually identifies and recommends changes to existing processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and quality service.
