In addition as a graduate of the school of nursing I can integrate professional development, research, health promotion, community health, leadership skills and professional values into nursing practice within a global learning community.
- Completed more than 800 Hours of Clinical experiences, 200 of which were in critical care areas
This experience provided ample opportunities for growth. I gained professional development through hands on patient care, and the opportunity to practice health promotion through patient education. Working with others on the interdisciplinary team helped develop leadership skills, as well as provided ample opportunity to use critical thinking with patient safety always at the forefront.
- Participated in Group Learning Activities and Projects, utilizing EBP
- Group Leadership Project - identifying and solving problems encountered in a clinical experience
- Group Education Project - Creating educational content for the post-natal community and families regarding specific infant concerns or disease processes
These assignments both strengthened my ability to work with others towards specific, measurable goals, as well as my ability to use EBP to develop and support my work.
- Showed Leadership through mentoring
I worked with fellow classmates during each semester, running frequent study halls to assist my fellow students and myself to understand and contextualize the information we were learning in class, and integrate it with our clinical experiences.
