UW Platteville's Collegiate Soils Team
I have been a member of the soils team for 5 consecutive semesters. Soil judging is a competitive skill that hundreds of students around the country participate in. We specifically identify soil morphology, profile characteristics, site characteristics, classification, and civil interpretations. Just this October we qualified for nationals in the Midwest regional competition in Carbondale, IL. In April 2024 I competed in soil judging at NACTA in Twin Falls, ID; We won second place in the team competition. I will be competing in nationals in the spring in Stevens Point, WI. I will also be traveling to southern Texas for the NACTA competitions this year.
