My responsibility as a Correctional Officer are endless , the main responsibility is to ensure safety of the incarcerated individuals and for myself. I conduct 4 counts at 9:30, 12, 2:30, and 4:30, to ensure no attempted escapes . Every thirty minutes of shift I conduct a Pipe round in which I walk both ends of my dorm that can hold up to 150-180 incarcerated individuals, I have to ensure no one is causing fires, deaths, fights , health precautions , safety hazards, and overall safety. My duty as a Correctional officer is to be very observant with these individuals, observe any type of abuse and overall health. I also report write any new offenders and any offenders leaving my dorm , I report write all signals in the facility , and any other information that happens on shift .
As Certified Nursing Aid my duties were to care for all patients and assisting with all needs .I would assist with hygiene, bathing , dressing , Adl’s ,
mobility , meals , and overall safety for residents .I would take and record vital signs , monitoring each person health and report any changes to nurse .
