- Admits Patients to Detox Program or Residential Care for Drug or Alcohol SUD
- Cares for Patients with Chemical Dependency with co-existing Psychiatric Diagnosis
- Assesses Patients in active withdrawal and provides interventions following NP or MD's orders
- Performs BAC and Urine Screening for Alcohol and Drugs at Admit and as ordered
- Screens Patients for Co-existing Medical Issues and Comorbidities to address each Patient Holistically
- Utilizes Software (KIPU) to admit patient and document daily on each patient
- Enters NP or MD orders into KIPU and eRx
- Communicates Patients’ signs and symptoms to NP or MD for follow-up or acute intervention
- Refers Patients to higher level of care as necessary with NP or MD consultation
- Collaborates with Clinical Director, Counselors, and Behavioral Health Techs to provide patient care
- Alerts Nutritionist for Patient related dietary needs or changes
- Supervises BHTs and LPNs to provide Patient care
- Maintains therapeutic and supportive environment during each Patient’s stay at Avenues
- Reports to MD, Nurse Manager, or Supply Tech to maintain Medical Supplies and Medication Inventory
- Coordinates with MD, NP, or Case Manager/Patient Advocate to provide further testing for patients including Labs, Imaging, and Medical or Dental Appointments
- Assists in Patient Discharge Planning
- Performs as Charge Nurse
- Creates and Maintains Daily Shift Report using Microsoft Excel
- Advocated for patients by communicating care preferences to practitioners
