  • Work closely with engineers in assisting with RF testing of payload and TC&R (telemetry, commanding, and receiving) subsystem for commercial spacecrafts
  • Use of signal generators, signal analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, and digital multimeters, to test spacecraft components and paths, as well as to certify GSE (ground station equipment)
  • Managed, tracked, and certified GSE including mixer chassis, amplifier chassis, switch boxes, as well as measuring cables used for testing
  • Cabled and de-cabled test coax on spacecraft for all test phases
  • Experience reading block diagrams and drawings to set up test configurations as well as troubleshoot
  • Actual payload testing done using PTS (payload test system), TC&R rack, and maestro which is a real-time command and control software used for commanding, telemetry, control, and monitoring
  • Ran RSRE (radiated susceptibility radiated emissions) testing to test for leakage
  • Most testing done at ambient temperatures
  • Supported TVAC testing where the spacecraft is placed in a thermal vacuum chamber to simulate space conditions such as vacuum and hot/cold temperatures
  • Supported near field range which is where testing of the spacecraft is done in full flight configuration with antennas connected and radiating
  • This is where air link testing of both Payload and TC&R systems are done.
