My first experience with a drone was a small Hubson back in 2015. Soon after crashing it, I searched online for replacement parts and stumbled across a site that sold an after market carbon fiber frame for it, I was astonished! I purchased the frame and swapped out the guts and could not believe that i had just customized my first drone. The madness started, I became extremely passionate on building drones, joining forums, and constantly researching everything about them. Soon after that, i discovered you could mount a camera and fly the drone FPV, Wow! It was a whole new flying experience and the rest is history! I can easily say I have seen the evolution of FPV drones as a hobby. After building drones for a while and a FPV freestyle pilot for a good amount of years i put the hobby down, but the passion really took off again during the pandemic in 2020. With not much to do, I began building drones again, got involved with a local chapter of racers and decided to set up meets out in the Redlands to concur boredom. And with the added free time due to the pandemic, I also took a course online with the Pilot Institute to obtain a Part 107 Certificate. For me, drones are life!
