  • As Deputy to the International Secretary General (Deputy SG), I manage – as delegated by the Secretary General – the coordinators of all MSF support coordination platforms: Finance, Human Resources, Fundraising, Logistics, Supply, and Information Systems.
  • I report to the Secretary General and I am a member of MSFs Executive Committee (the international executive leadership platform of the MSF Movement) and the International Office Management Team (IO MT)
  • The purpose of the position is to support the Secretary-General through:
  • Leading the definition of strategy, governance, and accountability processes for the main operational support areas (Finance and Fundraising, with over EUR 2,500,000 in revenue), HR (overseeing a global workforce of over 65,000 staff), Logistics, Supply (with over EUR 180M of covered procurement spent), and Information Systems.
  • Oversee and support the production of MSF’s International Combined Accounts (ICA) and the preparation of the biannual Financial Review processes, in close collaboration with the International Board’s Finance Committee.
  • Accountability for the execution of the International Multiyear Plan (IMP), as per the delegation of the Secretary General.
  • Advise the Secretary General and the International Board President in topics pertaining to all operational support areas
  • Establish a calendar of engagement based on priority setting between support platforms, mainly the Executive Committee, the Operation Directors platform, and other platforms when required.
  • Reinforcing exchanges and communication, cooperation, and learning between coordinators in the construction of common international projects, frameworks, and agreements.
  • Improving the governance of international projects.
  • As Deputy SG, I am the focal point for institutional risk management, tax, and compliance, and I am a member of the Insurance Steering Committee, the Personal Data and Privacy Steering Committee, as well as various Large Project Steering Committees.
  • The Deputy SG assumes the responsibilities of the International Secretary General in his absence.

  • As the Director of Internal Operations, I played a critical role within MSF-USA
  • Reporting to the Executive Director and on the Management Team (MT), I was responsible, in close collaboration with the Directors of the respective areas, for the development of MSF USA’s Financial (over $550M in revenue), Information Systems, Domestic HR management strategy and drive the development of the MSF USA’s strategic goals
  • In addition to the strategic components, I was charged with developing and implementing governance, policies and procedures for Internal Controls & Risks and general Operational Elements and Office Services, ensuring the smooth functioning of the MSF USA’s office, as well as adherence to best practices for project and change management
  • As Deputy Executive Director, I assumed the responsibilities of the ED in her absence
  • In close collaboration with the Board and the Executive Director, I led the development of the MSF USA 2017 – 2021 Strategic Plan and the Annual Planning Cycle and Management dashboard, in alignment with the Strategic Plan
  • I co-led the implementation of MSF USA’s digital transformation (CRM / Marketing Cloud, Finance ERP and HR Information Systems)

  • Reported directly to the Executive Director, in close contact and coordination with the remaining members of the Management Team, the Director of Operations and the Board of Directors of MSF Spain / OCBA
  • I was responsible for the coordination and management of all accounting, budgeting (2013 annual operational budget was 115 Million Euros), treasury and financial control and analysis matters of the Association
  • As a member of the Management Team, contributed to, participated in and implemented two OCBA strategic plans, in all financial related aspects
  • As a member of the International Finance Director Platform, was instrumental in defining an MSF wide financial agreement and oversaw its implementation
  • I led the review, definition and roll out of the new Field Chart of Accounts and actively contributed to the roll out of the International Risk assessment
  • During my tenure, I was appointed Director of Resources of MSF Greece (2010-2012), where I oversaw the Finance and Fundraising Departments, accompanying the Greek section navigate the effects of the Greek financial crisis, including a reduction of 20% of section costs and FTEs
