Currently, I am a Marine Machinery Mechanic Repairer for shop 38.As a lead mechanic I have experience in overhaul's of steam turbines which included lapping seats and lapping poppets and setting and adjusting valve timing. Disassembly and reassembly of steam turbines using induction heating and basic hand tools. working with riggers to lift case even and not damage the component of adjacent components performing casing internal inspections and rotor inspections and diaphragm and steam packing Performing contact checks on several joints. Disassembly inspection and reassembly journal and thrust bearings.
Measuring with various tooling ex outside, inside, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators. To the nearest ten-thousandth of an inch
As a shop 38 mechanic i am responsible for locating the components in the space by using drawings and system knowledge, preparing for the job which included all tooling hazmat, reviewing paper work and leading briefs on the job for the day.

As a Machinist mate in the Reactor department on CVN-71. Stood watch in a Nuclear propulsion plant. I’ve trained over 150 junior and senior sailors in the safe operation of a steam plant including being a member of the Propulsion plant drill team which included setting the plant for drills and running simulated and real casualty making sure all immediate actions were taken and equipment restoration was complete.
Dec20-Aug 22 - As a Corrective maintenance supervisor I’ve tracked and repaired Over 1500 material deficiencies. Including writing tag outs and tracking system re-tests Performed and provided oversight to 25 controlled work packages on level 1 valves including cutting valve seats and lapping valve seats, setting new studs in valve body, Drain strainer orifice as needed and replacing level 1 components as needed. Also ensuring all traceability was maintained throughout the inline repair.
Overhauled #1 and #2 WP-5000 Sauer high pressure air compressors for catastrophic failure to 4th stage piston which included replacing 4th stage piston with new cylinder and replacing all which were underway limiting items required to get the ship underway.
April22-Jan23 -took over as 1 Main machinery room Zone manager responsible for FY-21 DPIA for tracking all 900 jobs which included daily meeting for schedule of work and moving work phases to proper key events in the availability with the ship yard provided scheduler and code 246 responsible for the testing program.
Jan23-July23- Took over as 2 Main machinery room leading petty officer in charge of 45 personnel associated equipment which included writing evaluations, ensuring all daily training and maintenance were being completed and led all testing of steam valves as a QAI that were worked which included body to bonnet testing packing leak test and seat leakage test.
July 23-0ct23 Performed vertical and horizontal audits on all of reactor department controlled work packages assigned by ships quality assurance officer which included reviewing QA forms and documenting deficiencies.
