Responsible for the care and upkeep of production fish from parr to stocking size.
Feeds trout based on size and temperature of the water.
Operates a vacuum pump to clean tanks.
Monitors for disease and predation.
Conducts weekly water quality testing for dissolved oxygen, pH, and water samples for nitrate, nitrite, TKN, ammonia, TSS, BOD, T phosphorus, T nitrogen, and ortho phosphorus, which are sent out for third-party testing.
Prepares fish for transporting to public waters, loads the truck based on calculated fish per pound, and drives stocking trucks to the designated bodies of water according to regional fisheries management.
Conducts maintenance on the facility, such as repairing concrete tanks, fixing wooden boardwalks, and fixing seine nets.
Sorts and grades the fish according to size, through the use of a mechanical grading device.
Assists in the propagation by stripping broodstock for eggs and sorted eggs for viability.
