As a peer recovery coach, I utilize my past experiences of mental health and substance abuse traumas to help identify and connect with Guests, as well as work with a team to provide a positive service during the Guests’ stay and also assist with transitioning successfully in their next steps.

I act as a positive representation of the Inmate Scholars Program to the community and incarcerated individuals seeking educational opportunities. I develop and foster relationships between the Inmate Scholars Program Faculty and the student population they serve. I maintain a thorough knowledge of the program and the understanding of how it impacts students, faculty, and CDCR staff.

I overseen the day to day operations of an all-male housing center. This consisted of overseeing the daily routine of the 15 individuals housed at the center, ensuring rehabilitation and counseling services were taking place, and being utilized. Overseeing the budget and maintenance of the facility. I was the point of contact for staff, family members, and the community.
