I am the kitchen manager at Kaldi's Coffee. I manage the inventory of the kitchen as well as the people. I work with vendors to ensure the kitchen has all the products to run on time and efficiently. I manage waste in the kitchen, writing up reports/plans to improve the kitchen's efficiency. I look at the previous year's sales spreadsheet to interpret the following month's inventory prices and make sales projections.
Much of my job is delegating tasks to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and the food is out on time and served at Kaldi's standards. I train new employees on grill, prep, cleaning, and meeting kitchen and customer service standards. I train employees, not only at the location I work at, but also for new employees at other locations around the company.
Also, I take pride in making and maintaining respectable relationships with my employees and managers. I work hard to ensure that my employees are reaching their goals; not only developing them to be efficient but also to care about them as individuals and work hard as a team.
I worked in recruiting, telemarketing, and scheduling appointments for sales agents and myself. I put together sales scripts and taught agents about sales techniques. I created spreadsheets with information regarding the agent's sales (policies, buys info, etc.) so things were organized and easily accessed.
I earned my Life Insurance license and was a sales agent for 2 years and sold alongside agents. I spent a lot of time developing agents by doing door-to-door sales and cold calling. I enjoyed learning about people's lives and coming up with solutions for their long-term problems. Finding the best price for customers was my top priority (this was also what I taught our agents), and as a company, we took pride in finding what was best for clients, even if it wasn't us.
