Results-driven Electrical Technician experienced in PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and safety management. Minimized downtime through effective use of diagnostic tools including but not limited to Logic, VFDs, CCW, and IBA, ensuring operational efficiency across multiple departments. Committed to collaboration and continuous skill development.
I currently work at Vallourec Star of Youngstown Ohio in the Electrical Maintenance Department as an Electronics Technician. I am responsible for troubleshooting all PLC Programming and Electrical issues across 3 departments. My goal here is to keep downtime to a minimum. Part of that is implementing temporary edits in Logic and in the field work around solutions so production can remain operational until our next scheduled down day. On a daily basis I will use AssetCentre to connect to our processors and I use RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, IBA Analyzer, Connected Components Workbench and numerous other applications to identify, edit and troubleshoot issues with VFDs, HMIs, sensors and any other electrical devices out in the field. I utilize these to get production back online safely and efficiently.
Working in the Heat Treat department the Furnace operator was basically the captain of the ship. You had to learn all of the jobs in the department such as, High Speed Straightener, Utility operator (Burning & Welding) and how to operate Pipe Loaders and Unloaders (Magnetic Lifts). Working your way through these jobs prepares you on how to navigate your men to where they are needed during production delays, product failures and working with maintenance to get the mill back online.
Operated furnace to maintain temperature and ensure proper material processing.
Working in the Threading Department you are responsible for every pipe that leaves this mill. Put certification initials after inspecting pipe according to API standards..
Common things on the job included changing over threaders to different pipe sizes. Made adjustments to the CNC threaders as needed. Monitoring the line for breakdowns and equipment failure.
Collaborated with Quality lab to calibrate gauges correctly and used the orbital comparator to check the thread molds for quality assurance.
