  • Verify personnel identification cards and badges through use of: biometrics, automated records, verbal questioning, other methods to include operating the DSAS system, and other means.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the NCIC, JPASS, and DSAS system. Allow access to personnel who have proper authorization, and deny access to personnel who do not have proper authorization.
  • Determine if proper authorization of access exists, and provides assistance.
  • Provide assistance for personnel who have brief questions, or do not have proper authorization to access installation or restricted area.
  • Gathers visitor information and issues daily visitors pass or access for truckers entering the truck gate after obtaining a background check from the NCIC and JPASS systems. If needed, assists personnel in obtaining proper authorization of access from the badging office. Refer personnel to badging office to obtain special access pass if needed.
  • Admit entry, deny access, and arrange for escorts as appropriate.
  • Conduct personnel and vehicle searches/inspections (to include cargo areas, engine compartments, and undercarriages) in accordance with BGAD regulations, operating procedures, and current force protection level. Inspect containers, personal property, documents on private, commercial, and government vehicles.
  • Exercise tact, courtesy, and firmness in performance of all force protection duties at all times.
  • Confiscate unauthorized (or otherwise controlled) items. Detain personnel suspected of criminal or illegal activity.
  • Question suspicious persons, and detain violators of laws, policies, rules, or posted warnings.
  • Make decisions regarding the use of deadly force, the escalation of force, operates the vehicle barrier system when required, and alert appropriate officials of security violations.
  • Secure installation from all entry upon notification of alarm or emergency, and of own initiative if necessary.
  • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of: perimeter, roadways, parking, administrative and storage structures, shops, restricted areas, and other high traffic areas in accordance with BGAD regulations and standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Conduct or assist with security investigations and complete Military Police Reports (MPRs), Tickets and Accident Reports as needed, protect crime scenes, direct traffic, and enforce traffic and parking regulations.
