Work History

Senior Account Executive

Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions
06.2022 - 01.2025

Dynamic Marketing Acquisitions is an Independently owned Corporate Licensee (ICL) partnered with AT&T. In this position I provided clients with a premium direct sales and customer service experience and worked with new and existing customers to open new AT&T accounts. I strategized new and innovative ways to increase sales and increased account retention by building strong relationships with clients.

  • As I grew within the company I also helped recruit, train and develop sales representatives to achieve team goals and key performance metrics. I also mentored junior account executives, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional growth.

Founder, CEO

Shanghai FY International Trading Co.
06.2020 - 06.2022
  • Shanghai FY International was a small-scale “wholly foreign owned” import/ export enterprise that I established during my time in China (over an 8 year . While the company was licensed for wholesale import and export across 14 different product classifications (pre-packaged food products, cosmetics, apparel, consumer electronics, etc.), we were mainly focused on import of select high-quality US pre-packaged food items from nearby ports into Shanghai.
  • I devised the company's original mission, vision and foundational structure and actively facilitated its continued growth. I also aligned the company vision with market needs through detailed planning and engagement through every step of the supply chain.

Private English Language Tutor

Self-employeed
01.2017 - 12.2020
  • Began tutoring English privately while in a Chinese language program at Tongji University in Shanghai and achieved the scale to formalize and consistently improve the quality of my course.
  • I connected with hundreds of Chinese students across various age ranges to strengthen their spoken English skills, grammar, vocabulary and level of fluency.
  • Built, maintained and expanded the original content from classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced students to customized lessons and test-preparation (I also emphasized the importance of language in our overall cultural understanding in society).
  • Developed individualized lesson plans tailored to each student''s unique learning style, resulting in improved language skills and comprehension.

Intern/Assistant

American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai
04.2018 - 08.2018
  • Worked in the Trade and Investment Center within AMCHAM to help familiarize American small and medium sized enterprises to rapidly expanding Chinese markets. I worked with Chinese affiliates and government agencies to help facilitate favorable business conditions in China’s Yangtze River Delta industrial parks for American enterprises (e.g. legal process, financing, taxes, regulatory compliance etc).
  • Conducted research to provide insights for project development for small and medium sized enterprises doing business in Shanghai.

Financial Research Analyst

BestFQ
01.2013 - 02.2015
  • Analyzed market trends by conducting in-depth research and data analysis. Conducted daily analysis of financial data including; commodities prices, treasury bond yields, foreign exchange rates, US equities and derivatives securities. My research mainly focused on US macroeconomic data such as; industrial production, labor market trends, manufacturing and trade inventories and sales, durable goods shipments, inventories, and orders etc.
  • Established a strong understanding of balance sheet analysis, profitability, and leverage ratios for systemically important financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, private-public institutions).

Undergraduate Researcher

Clemson University
08.2012 - 08.2013
  • "Analog/Digital Signal Analysis in Physical Instrumentation and Detectors" • In this research I built and operated threshold circuits based on a basic Schmitt trigger design architecture which derived inputs from various physical sensors (temperature, infrared, carbon monoxide and ambient light sensors). I used an Arduino micro-controller which allowed me to store and process data from various circuits and then used computer codes to set thresholds. I established a strong understanding of the physical basis of electronics & circuits, micro-controller theory and operation, and analog-to digital conversion methods.
  • Developed top-level skills in collaboration, interpersonal communication and writing through hands-on work and training.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader

Clemson University
04.2010 - 12.2012
  • I provided academic support in single/multivariate calculus and physics for freshman/sophomore students. Prepared supplemental review sessions for students seeking extra help outside of class and conducted weekly review sessions.
  • Attended classes daily, establishing a relationship with each student’s needs and tailored lessons accordingly based on the needs of each particular student.
  • Worked closely with pupils to identify their learning style and conducted regular assessment of student progress, adjusting my approach as needed to optimize learning outcomes.

AMNH REU Undergraduate Summer Intern

American Museum of Natural History
03.2012 - 10.2012
  • Research project titled "Infrared Dust Emission in Luminous Infrared Galaxy IC883: Weak AGN or Starburst? •This research was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under grant AST-1004583, and under the supervision of Dr. Charles Liu). Investigated radiative, mechanical, and thermal energy transport processes associated with luminous infrared galaxy IC883, and other galaxies in the GOALS (Great Observatory All Sky LIRG Survey) catalog. Identified and characterized various components of the far infrared spectral energy distribution (warm dust, PAHs, and other non- thermal components). Used various software packages to quantify these features (Python and Image Reduction Analysis Facility) using archival data from space-based telescopes Spitzer, Hubble, and Herschel along with ground based radio and interferometry data.m Attended ”Star Formation and Gas Reservoirs in Nearby Groups and Clusters” conference in Schenectady, NY

Undergraduate Researcher

Clemson University
01.2010 - 12.2010
  • Research project titled "Characterizing Dark Current in Astronomical Charge Coupled Devices". (Under the supervision of Dr. Dieter Hartmann). Developed methods to probe the linearity of dark (thermal) noise in the Apogee Alta CCD at the SARA 0.9m telescope. Developed an understanding of the solid-state physics underlying differences between various CCD types: deep- depletion, orthogonal transfer, and multi-pinned phase CCDs etc. Worked on methods to reduce/account for thermal noise in the semiconductor chips to improve CCD‘s capabilities.

SARA REU Undergraduate Summer Intern

Southeastern Association for Research In Astronomy
04.2010 - 09.2010
  • Research project titled: "Observing Extinction Effects due to Bok Globules with the SARA 0.9m Telescope"Research funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under grant NSF AST1004872. Conducted research on optical depth and dynamics of dust particles in the ISM (interstellar medium). Modeled the transport properties of electromagnetic radiation as it passes through these and other media (radiative transport). Performed several observing runs at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona for several Bok Globules in the local Milky Way galaxy. Developed familiarity with several observational and theoretical astronomical methods and procedures.
  • Published a paper with my research mentor Dieter H. Hartmann and his PhD student Adria Updike which can be found on the NASA/SAO database (see Publications).
