- Inspect and pre-trip tug for overall health of propulsion and auxiliary power, as well towing mechanisms.
- Monitor and interpret tides, wind and upcoming weather changes. As well as determine possible eddies and other complications created by weather and water.
- Move up to three different crane barges in position to pile drive, set template’s and lay concrete.
- Move pile barges and hammer barges to support crane operations.
- Move excavator and rock barges combo in place to excavate rock and then deploy rock in position along the key-way.
- Various other task’s as in push and pull on barges to set and re-set spuds and ferry workers to their perspective places along the job site. Also return leased cranes and other equipment back to their original fleets.

- As the master I operated 4 different vessels in many capacities. Once I begin my shift I check all mechanical and electrical systems, I also review any meteorology and any river postings and water height. Once on the vessel I meet with my chief Mate to review safety and cruise itinerary. As the master of the vessel I have control over all employees and all passengers, it is my job to ensure safe and efficient cruises. Also to operate the vessel and prepare for boarding and disembarking.
- Train all incoming new marine personnel. Training is comprised of Fire Fighting and marine emergencies. Also deck training with line handling, knots and deck safety. Finally customer service and proper company etiquette.
- Narrating, I perform live narrations in front of passengers about the city of Pittsburgh’s culture, customs and history.

- In the morning I operated a twin prop, 120ft commuter ferry. Going from one side of New Jersey to Manhattan, the trip is 8 min long and makes more than 32 total round trips in the morning. In the afternoon, I operated a Cat powered twin jet, 125ft catamaran; ferry along the same morning route, totaling 64 roundtrips a day.

- The duties for this job were; general maintenance of the ship, passenger control, security watches, and loading/unloading freight and vehicles.
- The main duties of the mate position was to oversee all of the operations of the boat while loading and underway. Furthermore, I was responsible for directing, supervising, and managing the crew while loading vehicles. I also conducted MOB, Fire, and abandon ship drills. I operated the boat under the control of the Captain.
- I unloaded/loaded boats during the offseason, and organized the incoming and outgoing freight. In the shipyard I did outer hull work (mainly painting) and light mechanical work in the engine rooms.
- I served onboard the M/V’s “Carol Jean”-190ft, “Block Island”-200 ft, “Anna C”-190ft, and the jet powered high-speed “Athena”- 99ft. The first three boats were dual propeller powered vessels.
